Kevin Weaver graduated with first class honours in Music from Cambridge University in 2005 and subsequently achieved distinction level in his postgraduate diploma at the Royal Academy of Music, studying with Lydia Mordkovitch. Whilst studying at Cambridge, Kevin was a University Instrumental Award Holder, leader of Cambridge University Symphony Orchestra and recipient of the H. L. Perry Prize for the best performance in Gonville and Caius College. Kevin regularly freelances with the English Symphony Orchestra and leads the Merriman Concert Orchestra. He was appointed Head of Strings at Cranleigh School, Surrey in 2010, and additionally took on the role of Head of Academic Music the following year.
Away from playing the violin, Kevin and Leena-Maaria enjoy cross country skiing, ice swimming, kayaking and foraging for wild foods.
