Neil is our tweed jacket sporting stalwart of the viola section. He studied at Leeds University and the Royal College of Music. His second year of postgraduate study was made possible through a substantial scholarship awarded by the RCM.
Neil freelances throughout the UK. He has worked with the Ulster Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, Northern Sinfonia, English String Orchestra, Orchestra of Scottish Ballet and English National Opera. He is violist with the Bergonzi Quartet, and with the Darwin Ensemble String Quartet. Neil currently teaches at Dulwich College and Alleyn’s School, south-east London.
In his spare time, Neil is a keep fit enthusiast, enjoys travelling in Eastern Europe, reading, and sampling the culinary delights of rural gastropubs. Rather worryingly, he is also a closet organist, and is to be found seated at the console on most Sunday mornings, where he exposes unsuspecting Derbyshire church-goers to the manifold joys of the French organ repertoire!
